The Regional Biomass Forum is a new series of events organized by Hellenic Biomass Development Company (ELEABIOM) on an annual basis. Purpose of the Forum is to bring to direct contact and networking businesses, local government, academic and research institutions, agricultural and forestry cooperatives, energy communities, logistics managers, owner-operators of project machinery, forestry and agricultural machinery, biomass producers and in general all actors of the biomass value chain.
The 1o Regional Forum Biomaza with subject "Bioenergy and Sustainable Forest Management" focuses on her role utilization of forest biomass for the production of bioenergy, wood products, solid biofuels – pellets, biocoal – biochar and bioeconomy products, in order to mitigate the effects of climate change on the country's forest ecosystems.
The event is organized in collaboration with Austrian Embassy in Athens, the Commercial Department ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA and him Austrian Biomass Association and consists of two distinct sections, the conference (Tuesday 14 May 2024) and them visits (Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 May 2024). Participation in each of these sections is carried out without financial burden for the delegates and is realized thanks to the kind sponsorship of the companies - members of ELEAVIOM. Her Tuesday, May 14, 2024 the Conference will be held in Larissa which will include:
- Speeches by Austrian experts who will present the corresponding model of forest biomass utilization in Austria.
- Short presentations of Greek and Austrian companies and organizations.
- B2B meetings in order to explore the possibility of cooperation between companies of the two countries.
Visits
Her Wednesday, May 15, 2024, participants will be able to visit:
- The Mouzaki Forestry of Karditsa
- The Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design of the University of Thessaly
Her Thursday, May 16, 2024 there will be visits to industrial power generation units with biomass in Larissa and Volos.
